Beltane-May Day Festival
at The Pagan Path, Inc
Mass Handfasting Ceremony Registration
Saturday, May 1, 2021
Check-in begins at 3:30 PM
FREE of charge!
A marriage license is required for couples who wish to be legally wed at this ceremony. Please visit the Rockingham County Government page for information on how to obtain one.
The ceremony will combine elements of both a traditional Celtic handfasting and a Christian wedding ceremony. Although the handfasting ceremony uses a binding cord it is not required if you do not want to use one. We will have ribbon available for purchase if you do want to create your own. Be sure to check out the handfasting page to see the color significance. We encourage you to invite family and friends to witness your ceremony and to celebrate May Day with us.
Following the ceremony, couples are invited to jump the besom (broom) on their way out. You are welcome to bring your own besom if you choose but one will be made available for all couples to jump.
Immediately following the ceremony we will enjoy a Cake & ‘Ale’ reception. Due to this event being alcohol free, there will be no traditional ale. Instead, there will be a variety of non-alcoholic beverages provided that will represent the ale symbolically.
Check-in will begin at 3:30 PM and we will promptly begin the ceremony at 4:30 PM.
Please complete the registration below to participate in the handfasting ceremony on May 1, 2021.
We are no longer offering camping spots for handfasting registrations.
